About Me

My name is Lionel (Leo) Rafael

My accounting career took flight in medium-sized firms, where I was immediately entrusted with conducting IFRS audits for publicly listed companies with multimillion-dollar valuations. This early immersion in high-stakes audits not only sharpened my skills but also laid a robust foundation for my professional journey.

As I advanced, I broadened my expertise to encompass personal and corporate tax, successfully managing hundreds of tax returns each season. This hands-on experience deepened my comprehension of the financial landscape and the varied needs of clients, equipping me to better serve diverse financial scenarios.

In pursuit of greater challenges, I joined a globally renowned accounting firm, one of the top five in the world. Here, I had the privilege of working with companies valued at half a billion dollars, further honing my skills in IFRS audits.

Recognizing the importance of a diversified skill set, I strategically transitioned to a firm specializing in ASPE. My goal was to gain a comprehensive understanding of accounting, complementing my proficiency in IFRS audits, reviews, and notice to readers with expertise in ASPE audits and reviews.

This decision was fueled by my ambition to establish my own firm, with a focus on small businesses. I sought a more personal connection with clients, which is often more achievable with smaller businesses. Once I gained the experience, I felt equipped to embark on my entrepreneurial journey.

My mission is to provide personalized, one-on-one accounting services to clients, leveraging my extensive and diverse experience in the field.
